Kink dynamics in a nonlinear beam model

Summary: In this paper, the study focuses on the single kink and kink-antikink collisions of a nonlinear beam equation with a fourth-derivative term. Different characteristics of the kink and antikink collisions at different velocities are explored, showing dramatically different phenomenology. The use of collective coordinates method is briefly discussed, suggesting the need for more degrees of freedom to capture collision phenomenology at higher initial velocities.
