An antibonding valence band maximum enables defect-tolerant and stable GeSe photovoltaics

Shun-Chang Liu et al.

Summary: The study reveals that binary GeSe material exhibits perovskite-like antibonding properties with high stability and low defect density, achieving higher solar cell conversion efficiency through a surface passivation strategy. This new GeSe solar cell technology shows no efficiency loss after 12 months of storage, 1100 hours under maximum power point tracking, UV irradiation, and thermal cycling.
