Direct excess partial molar enthalpies of 2-(isopropylamino)ethanol in the water very-rich region and water in 2-(isopropylamino)ethanol rich-region were measured. The limiting excess partial molar values and enthalpies of molecular interactions between like molecules were obtained and compared with literature values for other amphiphiles. The results were interpreted in terms of molecular interactions supported by previous volumetric and compressibility studies.
Direct excess partial molar enthalpies of 2-(isopropylamino)ethanol in the water very-rich region and water in 2-(isopropylamino)ethanol rich-region were obtained, at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure, using a semi-adiabatic isoperibol solution calorimeter. Limiting excess partial molar values of this property, at the two extremes of composition, were estimated and compared with literature values for some other amphiphiles. Enthalpies of the molecular interactions between like molecules, H-ii, in the same composition's ranges were also obtained. The interpretation of the results in terms of molecular interactions is supported by the previous volumetric and compressibility studies. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
