Intrinsic high thermal conductive liquid crystal epoxy film simultaneously combining with excellent intrinsic self-healing performance

Xutong Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a side chain liquid crystal epoxy based on biphenyl mesomorphic unit was successfully synthesized, and a liquid crystal epoxy film with thermal conductivity and self-healing properties was prepared. The liquid crystal epoxy showed high thermal conductivity, excellent self-healing performance, wide service temperature range, and good thermal stability. It is expected to have wide application prospects in the fields of flexible electronic devices and intelligent structures.

Liquid crystalline texture and hydrogen bond on the thermal conductivities of intrinsic thermal conductive polymer films

Ying Li et al.

Summary: PDLC films composed of PVA and LCM were successfully prepared by solution casting & thermal compressing method, showing significantly improved thermal conductivity compared to neat PVA due to the hydrogen bond interaction between LCM and PVA. The high thermal conductivity of PDLC films was mainly attributed to the ordered structures formed by LCM stacking, PVA chain arrangement, and their hydrogen bond interaction, providing a new approach for designing and preparing novel high thermal conductive polymers.
