Modeling and Experimental Validation of Microbial Transfer via Surface Touch

Pengcheng Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, a new physical model was proposed to evaluate microbial transfer rates in finger-surface touch based on important physical factors. Experimental data were found to be more consistent with model predictions, providing new insights for future research.

Quantification of Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. Bulgaricus and its applicability as a tracer for studying contamination spread on environmental surfaces

Peihua Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. Bulgaricus was used as a tracer organism to investigate bacterial contamination spread on environmental surfaces in an office setting. The results showed that contamination levels decreased as the physical distance from the carrier's seat location increased, indicating that L. bulgaricus can be feasibly used in large-scale field studies of bacterial contamination spread.
