The fluorine motif is a crucial structure in organic and medicinal chemistry, widely used in pharmaceuticals. Visible light-mediated reactions have recently emerged as a valuable synthetic strategy, with various photochemical fluorination methods being utilized to produce a wide range of fluorinated products.
The fluorine motif is one of the most important structures in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry, having been employed in many applications including pharmaceuticals. Numerous protocols for fluorination have been developed due to the importance of its applications. Recently, visible light-mediated reactions have emerged as useful synthetic strategy, and various photochemical fluorination methods have been used to give a wide range of fluorinated products. In this review, we describe recent advances in visible light-mediated fluorination with or without photocatalysts.
