High affinity promoter binding of STOP1 is essential for early expression of novel aluminum-induced resistance genes GDH1 and GDH2 in Arabidopsis

Mutsutomo Tokizawa et al.

Summary: STOP1 regulates the expression of ALMT1, which is crucial for aluminum resistance in Arabidopsis. The rapid induction of AtALMT1 in response to aluminum is an important mechanism to protect roots from toxicity. STOP1 also regulates the expression of other aluminum resistance genes, such as GDH1 and 2, by binding to specific sites in their promoters.
