Classification of the renal papillary abnormalities by flexible ureteroscopy: evaluation of the 2016 version and update

Christophe Almeras et al.

Summary: This study assessed the use of the 2016 proposed classification of renal papillary abnormalities and confirmed that these abnormalities are consequences of stone development. Systematic description of these abnormalities during ureteroscopy can improve follow-up and diagnosis of metabolic lithogenesis. Further improvements to the classification are recommended.

Classification of Stones According to Michel Daudon: A Narrative Review

Mariela Corrales et al.

Summary: Morphoconstitutional analysis of urinary stones is crucial in assessing patients with urolithiasis, as it helps identify the type, composition, and potential causes of stones. Through microscopic examination and physical analysis, information on the morphology and constitution of stones can be obtained, providing insights into the primary etiological factors of stone formation.
