Early adolescent gender diversity and mental health in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study

Alexandra Potter et al.

Summary: This study found that early adolescents identifying as transgender are more likely to have recurrent thoughts of death compared to their peers. Additionally, there is considerable gender diversity among 10/11-year-olds, which is related to critical mental health symptoms. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between gender dimensions and wellness in youth.
