Priming with zinc oxide nanoparticles improve germination and photosynthetic performance in wheat

Summary: The study demonstrated the beneficial effects of seed priming with zinc oxide nanoparticles on the germination performance and photosynthetic pigment content of wheat seeds. Nanopriming enhanced seed water uptake and overall primary photochemistry, leading to increased activity enzymes and decreased oxidative status in plants. This is the first report showing ZnO NPs as a promising seed priming agent to improve germination and photosynthetic performance of wheat seeds.
