Circulating BiP/Grp78 is a novel prognostic marker for sepsis-mediated immune cell death

Marcel Doerflinger et al.

Summary: Sepsis-induced lymphopenia and immune suppression are crucial for patient survival, yet accurate prognostic techniques or biomarkers for cell death are lacking. The novel circulating prognostic biomarker BiP may serve as a valuable tool for monitoring immune cell death during sepsis.

High GRP78 levels in Covid-19 infection: A case-control study

Ramazan Sabirli et al.

Summary: This study reveals that GRP78 protein levels were significantly higher in Covid-19 infection patients compared to both Covid-19(-) pneumonia and control group, indicating a potential therapeutic target. There was no significant difference in GRP78 levels among different categories of Covid-19 related pneumonia.
