Polarizability: a promising descriptor to study chemical-biological interactions

Hiteshi Tandon et al.

Summary: Atomic polarizability, determined through an empirical method, has been applied to determine molecular polarizability and explore its application in studying chemical-biological interactions. A QSAR model was constructed to predict various biological activities based on polarizability, yielding superior results in comparison to observed activities.

Anticancer active trifluoromethylated fused triazinones are safe for early-life stages of zebrafish (Danio rerio) and reveal a proapoptotic action

Malgorzata Sztanke et al.

Summary: Most anticancer active compounds were found to be safe for zebrafish individuals and less toxic than the current anticancer drug, pemetrexed. The most selective compounds demonstrated a proapoptotic action in cancer cell lines, showing promise as drug candidates in the preclinical phase of drug development.
