All-Cause and Cardiovascular Disease Mortality Among Breast Cancer Survivors in CLUE II, a Long-Standing Community-Based Cohort

Cody Ramin et al.

Summary: The study revealed that breast cancer survivors have a higher risk of mortality compared to cancer-free women, regardless of factors such as time since diagnosis, tumor stage, and age at diagnosis. Cardiovascular disease, particularly ischemic heart disease, was the leading cause of death among survivors. Preventing cardiac deaths, especially among older breast cancer patients, could help reduce mortality rates.
