Perineuronal nets stabilize the grid cell network

The removal of perineuronal nets disrupts the temporal and spatial organization of grid cell firing, impacting the stability of representations in both novel and familiar environments. This work indicates that perineuronal nets provide a key stabilizing element for the grid cell network.
