Five new phenylspirodrimanes were isolated from a marine-derived fungus, along with four known compounds. Their structures were determined through spectroscopic analyses, and two of the compounds exhibited moderate antibacterial activities against various bacteria.
Five new phenylspirodrimanes, stachybomycins A & iexcl; E (1-5), together with four known compounds (6-9), were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Stachybotrys sp. SCSIO 40434. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses of NMR and HRESIMS. The absolute configuration of 1 was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compounds 5 and 7 showed moderate antibacterial activities against Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus with minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) values of 8, 16 and 16 mu g mL-1, respectively.
