General cosmological perturbations in teleparallel gravity

Manuel Hohmann

Summary: This paper discusses linear perturbations of teleparallel spacetimes with cosmological symmetry and decomposes them into irreducible components. The behavior of these perturbations under gauge transformations is studied, leading to the derivation of a complete set of gauge-invariant perturbation variables. Comparing the results with perturbations around a diagonal tetrad corresponding to a spatially flat teleparallel background cosmology reveals the appearance of new terms dependent on the specific choice of a cosmologically symmetric background tetrad.

Complete classification of cosmological teleparallel geometries

Manuel Hohmann

Summary: In this study, the notion of cosmological symmetry in teleparallel gravity and geometry is considered, and a complete classification of all homogeneous and isotropic teleparallel geometries is provided. The properties of these geometries, such as the torsion tensor and its transformation behavior, as well as the most general cosmological field equations for various teleparallel gravity theories, are derived. Additionally, spatial reflections are included in the notion of cosmological symmetry, further restricting possible teleparallel geometries.

Variational Principles in Teleparallel Gravity Theories

Manuel Hohmann

Summary: In this study, we examine the variational principles and derivation of field equations for various teleparallel gravity theories. We find that the different underlying geometric formulations and variation procedures all lead to the same set of field equations, showing equivalence. Furthermore, we discuss the consequences and relations established by the diffeomorphism invariance of the gravitational action.
