Thiourea and hydrogen peroxide priming improved K+ retention and source-sink relationship for mitigating salt stress in rice

Summary: Plant bioregulators (PBRs) such as thiourea (TU) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were found to mitigate NaCl stress in rice variety IR 64 by generating a reducing redox environment and improving plant growth and yield attributes. These PBRs also upregulated expression of NaCl defense related genes and enhanced photosystem-II efficiency and K+ retention in treated plants, suggesting their potential as effective tools for boosting rice productivity under salt stress.
