Ultra-Low Loading Pt/CeO2 Catalysts: Ceria Facet Effect Affords Improved Pairwise Selectivity for Parahydrogen Enhanced NMR Spectroscopy

Bochuan Song et al.

Summary: By manipulating the shape of ceria nanocrystals, the effect of CeO2 surface structure on Pt-CeO2 interactions was investigated, revealing higher stability of Pt on CeO2 (111). Strong electronic interactions between Pt and ceria (111) in catalytic reactions can enhance selectivity and improve NMR signal enhancement.

Singlet-Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Unlocking Hyperpolarization with Metabolism**

J. Eills et al.

Summary: This study introduces a novel H-1 imaging method in which hyperpolarized spin order is released for imaging through a specific biochemical reaction, while suppressing background signals from water. It allows for hyperpolarized imaging without the need for low-abundance, low-sensitivity heteronuclei.

Biomedical Applications of the Dynamic Nuclear Polarization and Parahydrogen Induced Polarization Techniques for Hyperpolarized 13C MR Imaging

Neil J. Stewart et al.

Summary: Since the first report on hyperpolarized [1-C-13]pyruvate magnetic resonance imaging in prostate cancer patients, rapid clinical dissemination of the technique has occurred. The use of hyperpolarized C-13 probes has expanded to study pathophysiological processes beyond the Warburg effect, with promising preclinical results leading to pending clinical translation. Recent technological advances have facilitated the realization of high-sensitivity, multi-functional molecular MRI using simultaneous injection of co-polarized agents.

High field parahydrogen induced polarization of succinate and phospholactate

Stephan Berner et al.

Summary: The hyperpolarization of nuclear spins of metabolites provides signal enhancement for diagnostic MRI, and recent advancements have shown in situ parahydrogen-induced C-13 hyperpolarization. Utilization of complex or cost-intensive polarizers has been the traditional method for hyperpolarizing C-13 contrast agents. The technique has been successfully demonstrated in the magnet bore of a 7 Tesla MRI system, allowing for in vivo administration and detection.

Hyperpolarization via dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization: new technological and methodological advances

Arthur C. Pinon et al.

Summary: Dissolution-DNP is a method to enhance liquid-state NMR sensitivity by solid-state dynamic nuclear polarization followed by instantaneous sample melting and dilution. Despite the well-established technique and outstanding signal enhancement, there is still a race to develop new methods for higher throughput, faster polarization, and longer signal exploitation. This review explores recent advances in dissolution-DNP methods to overcome original technique limitations, focusing on sample formulation, properties, and instrumentation.
