Investigation on the effect of neodymium doping on the magnetic, dielectric and microwave absorption properties of strontium hexaferrite particles in X-band

Avesh Garg et al.

Summary: Neodymium-doped strontium hexaferrites were developed as microwave absorbing materials, resulting in the formation of pure ferrite phase with smaller particle size due to neodymium acting as a growth inhibitor. Saturation magnetization and coercivity decreased with increasing neodymium doping concentration, leading to improved impedance matching and reflection loss. An optimal attenuation constant and reflection loss were observed at a doping concentration of X = 0.3, with a maximum reflection loss value of -40.595 dB at 9.62 GHz.
