Environmentally Friendly and Multifunctional Shaddock Peel-Based Carbon Aerogel for Thermal-Insulation and Microwave Absorption

Weihua Gu et al.

Summary: The eco-friendly shaddock peel-derived carbon aerogels were prepared via freeze-drying method, combining multiple functions such as thermal insulation, compression resistance, and microwave absorption. With minimum reflection loss in X band and wide effective absorption bandwidth, the carbon aerogels can achieve high radar cross-sectional reduction values. The novel computer simulation technology used in this study paves the way for preparing multi-functional microwave absorbers derived from biomass raw materials.
