Urine cytology findings in patients with biopsy-confirmed urothelial carcinoma in situ with plasmacytoid features

Meredith M. Nichols et al.

Summary: The cytologic features of P-CIS in urine samples are subtle and often not reproducible, and they generally do not meet the TPS criteria for high-grade urothelial carcinoma. In cases where specimens do not meet the TPS criteria for high-grade urothelial carcinoma, cytology of P-CIS should be best classified as atypical urothelial cells.
