The potential of biochar to enhance concentration and utilization of selected macro and micro nutrients for chickpea (Cicer arietinum) grown in three contrasting soils

Sg Lusiba et al.

Summary: The study found that application of poultry litter biochar significantly increased concentrations of certain nutrients, promoting chickpea growth in different soil types, while the higher C:N ratio of acacia biochar may lead to nutrient immobilization, resulting in a minimal growth and nutrient uptake response in chickpea in all soil types.
