On the use of catalysis to bias reaction pathways in out-of-equilibrium systems

Summary: Catalysis plays a crucial role in living systems by controlling complex reaction networks. While enzyme catalysis is common in natural systems, simulations show that altering catalyst concentrations can have significant effects on system behavior. Future research may focus on small molecule and metal catalysis in out-of-equilibrium systems to enhance applications in synthetic materials.
