A Prognostic Score for Predicting Survival in Patients With Pancreatic Head Adenocarcinoma and Distal Cholangiocarcinoma

Edoardo Maria Muttillo et al.

Summary: This study aimed to create a novel preoperative score to predict prognosis in patients with tumors of the pancreaticobiliary head. By analyzing preoperative biological, clinical, and radiological parameters, the study found that pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, CA19.9 level, and Wirsung duct diameter were associated with poor prognosis. A prognostic score (PHT score) was developed to predict patient survival, potentially influencing the type and timing of treatment offered to patients.
