The experimental results show that the addition of different network formers can improve the performance of phosphors, while compensating for vacancy defects can harmonize the luminescent color. Therefore, Sr2P2O7: Eu2+-Eu3+ phosphors have the potential to be widely used in various applications.
A series of Sr2P2O7:Eu2+-Eu3+ phosphors were successfully synthesized by the high temperature solid state method. The experimental results show that the existence of different network formers (SiO2, GeO2) has a certain influence on the microstructure and luminescent properties of the phosphor. It is interesting that the addition of SiO2 and GeO2 can dramatically improve the luminous intensity of Eu2+. By introducing Li+ or Na+ to compensate for vacancy defects, the purpose of harmonizing the luminescent color of the phosphor can be achieved. In this paper, Eu2+ / Eu3+ co-activated Sr2P2O7 phosphors have good luminous properties and can be adjusted through a variety of channels. Therefore, Sr2P2O7: Eu2+-Eu3+ phosphors can be an ideal choice for a new type of luminescent material.
