SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid and Nsp3 binding: an in silico study

Muhammad Tahir Khan et al.

Summary: SARS-CoV-2 virus belongs to the single-stranded positive-sense RNA family and encodes multiple structural proteins and nonstructural proteins. Interaction between N and Nsp3 proteins is essential for viral replication, and could potentially be a drug target in the future.

Emergence of European and North American mutant variants of SARS-CoV-2 in South-East Asia

Ovinu Kibria Islam et al.

Summary: The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 5 million infections and 333 thousand deaths within the first 5 months. Mutations of the virus are prevalent in Europe and North America, with unique variations observed in Southeast Asian countries. Rapidly emerging variants from Europe and North America pose a threat to Southeast Asia.

Analytic Sensitivity of 3 Nucleic Acid Detection Assays in Diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Jakob T. Sieker et al.

Summary: The study found that SARS-CoV-2 was detected in 27% of clinical specimens, with estimated viral concentrations widely distributed and 17% of positive individuals having concentrations <845 copies/mL. Positive percent agreement was strongly related to viral concentration, with GeneXpert showing reliable detection (>95%) at concentrations >100 copies/mL compared to ARIES LDT. ARIES LDT may have higher false-negative rates due to its lower sensitivity at lower viral concentrations.
