COVID-19 dentistry-related aspects: a literature overview

Summary: A novel coronavirus, Sars-CoV-2, discovered in China in late 2019, has led to a global pandemic. COVID-19, caused by this virus, is characterized by potentially lethal bilateral pneumonia. In the dental environment, the high risk of airborne transmission poses a serious problem for both practitioners and patients.

A perspective on dental activity during COVID-19: The Italian survey

Summary: During the COVID-19 epidemic in Italy in March and April 2020, dental activities were significantly reduced and limited to urgent treatments. A survey of dental professionals found that a majority of dentists used additional personal protective equipment, although some reported difficulty in obtaining necessary equipment. Following the peak of the epidemic, it is expected that there will be significant changes in dental activities before full restart.
