Tolerance of wheat (Triticum aestivum) genotypes to root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus thornei) in the subtropical grain region of eastern Australia

John P. Thompson et al.

Summary: Reliable assessment methods for evaluating tolerance to P. thornei in wheat genotypes were established based on field experiments, with the use of factor analytic multi-environment trial (MET) analysis leading to the development of a quantitative tolerance index. The three factors derived from the analysis accounted for the majority of genotype x experiment variance and covariance, providing a practical tool for predicting relative grain yield and guiding cultivar selection for growers.
