No evidence of selection against anomalous scute arrangements between juvenile and adult sea turtles in Florida

Blair P. Bentley et al.

Summary: Different species of sea turtles exhibit variations in the arrangement of scutes, with anomalies remaining relatively stable throughout growth. Anomalous scute arrangements do not seem to have survival costs once the turtles reach juvenile size classes, indicating common variation in scute arrangements within populations.
