Clinical characteristics and short-term prognosis of in-patients with diabetes and COVID-19: A retrospective study from an academic center in Belgium

Summary: This study described the characteristics and short-term prognosis of in-patients with diabetes and COVID-19 at a Belgian academic care center. The majority of patients had type 2 diabetes, hyperglycemia-related vascular complications, and hypertension. The overall case-fatality rate was 15%, with no statistically significant difference between patients with and without diabetes.
