CDC6 is up-regulated and a poor prognostic signature in glioblastoma multiforme

H. Zhao et al.

Summary: Elevated CDC6 expression in GBM tumor tissues compared to normal brain tissues was confirmed by analyzing TCGA dataset, RT-PCR, and western blot assays. High CDC6 expression negatively influenced GBM overall survival probability and days to progression after initial treatment, but not days to recurrence. Multivariate Cox regression analysis identified CDC6 as an independent marker for GBM prognosis, and in combination with CIMP, could predict 3-year OS and days to progression sensitively.

A molecular signature associated with prolonged survival in glioblastoma patients treated with regorafenib

Alessandra Santangelo et al.

Summary: The study identified a signature based on the expression of 5 biomarkers that could help identify a subgroup of GBM patients exhibiting a striking survival advantage when treated with regorafenib. Further validation in larger replication cohorts is needed, but potential biomarker options have been highlighted to guide clinical decision-making between regorafenib and other treatments in patients with relapsing GBM.
