Evaluating totipotency using criteria of increasing stringency

Eszter Posfai et al.

Summary: The article describes the criteria for defining totipotency and evaluates candidate totipotent stem cell types using different levels of stringency. It challenges the idea that expanded or extended pluripotent states have increased totipotent potential compared to conventional embryonic stem cells under in vitro and in vivo conditions.

Capturing Cardiogenesis in Gastruloids

Giuliana Rossi et al.

Summary: It has been found that mouse embryonic stem cells can mimic early heart organogenesis steps and support the development of cardiovascular progenitors. This new platform tool can be used to study heart development in detail.
