Summary: The rapid progress in subwavelength optics and nanophotonics is supported by Mie resonances in high refractive index nanoparticles, which provides a new platform for light localization and opens up new horizons for metamaterial-enabled photonics. This review paper discusses recent advances in Mie-resonant metaphotonics for high-index dielectric nanoparticles and metasurfaces, as well as their applications in topological photonics, while also outlining future developments in this field and its connections to other research areas.

Evolution and global charge conservation for polarization singularities emerging from non-Hermitian degeneracies
