Determinants of CO2 emissions: empirical evidence from Egypt

Tomiwa Sunday Adebayo et al.

Summary: The study in Egypt found a significant positive interaction between energy usage and CO2 emissions, with GDP growth positively impacting CO2 emissions, while urbanization and gross capital formation showed no significant link to CO2 emissions. Policymakers should focus on promoting sustainable urbanization and clean energy development based on these findings.

Do public-private partnerships in energy and renewable energy consumption matter for consumption-based carbon dioxide emissions in India?

Dervis Kirikkaleli et al.

Summary: The study found that renewable energy consumption helps to reduce consumption-based carbon dioxide emissions in India, while public-private partnership investment in the energy sector makes a positive contribution to these emissions. Therefore, it is recommended that policymakers in India take measures to encourage the use of renewable energy and increase investment in renewable energy to achieve cleaner production processes.

Sustainability of the Moderating Role of Financial Development in the Determinants of Environmental Degradation: Evidence from Turkey

Husam Rjoub et al.

Summary: This study examines the moderating effect of financial development on determinants of carbon emissions in Turkey and finds its significant role in the relationship between economic growth, capital formation, and urbanization with carbon emissions. The results offer policy recommendations for Turkish policymakers to reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental quality through environmental-financial related policies.

Modeling CO2 emissions in South Africa: empirical evidence from ARDL based bounds and wavelet coherence techniques

Tomiwa Sunday Adebayo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interconnection between financial development, real growth, urbanization, and CO2 emissions in South Africa. The findings suggest a positive impact of financial development on CO2 emissions, a negative relationship between urbanization and CO2 emissions, and a positive interaction between real growth and CO2 emissions. The results from the wavelet coherence approach support the ARDL long-term estimate and provide basis for recommendations.
