Toxico-metabolomics study of a deep eutectic solvent comprising choline chloride and urea suggests in vivo toxicity involving oxidative stress and ammonia stress

Summary: Research showed that ChCl-based DESs exhibited higher cytotoxicity in both in vitro and in vivo tests, particularly compared to their individual constituents. Some DESs were found to induce oxidative stress, ammonia stress, and gut dysbiosis, indicating potential toxic effects beyond simple mixture of components.
