Job Stress and Work-Family Conflict as Correlates of Job Satisfaction Among Police Officials

Vijay Viegas et al.

Summary: High levels of stress from police work can impact the psychological and physiological health, interpersonal relationships, and work-life balance of police officials. The study found a significant positive correlation between job stress and work-family conflict, a significant negative correlation between job stress and job satisfaction, and a negative correlation between job satisfaction and work-family conflict among police officials. These results support the job strain model and can help therapists and counselors identify problem areas and develop interventions to reduce stress and conflict among police officials, ultimately contributing to improved public safety outcomes.
