Grain size engineered high-performance nanograined BaTiO3-based ceramics: Experimental and numerical prediction

Chaoqiong Zhu et al.

Summary: Ultra-thin multilayer ceramic capacitors with nanograined BaTiO3-based ceramics of various grain sizes were prepared using a chemical coating method. It was found that an optimal grain size around 70 nm could achieve maximum discharge energy density under the synergy effect of breakdown strength and polarization. This study provides important guidance for the design of ultra-thin layer MLCCs by optimizing dielectric properties and energy storage performance.
