The use of multi-directional footfall sound recordings to describe running vertical impact properties

Summary: This study investigated whether multi-directional sound recordings could provide superior sound amplitudes for assessing vertical impact properties during running. The results showed that the relationships between running sounds and force parameters are highly influenced by the number and location of microphones, with anterior and posterior sound perspectives revealing the most significant interactions between sound and force parameters.
