Gender-associated differences in oral microbiota and salivary biochemical parameters in response to feeding

M. Minty et al.

Summary: This study compared the oral microbiota and salivary parameters between men and women in response to feeding. The results showed no significant differences in blood glucose levels between men and women in the fed state, while men had higher levels of cholesterol, free fatty acids, and triglycerides in the fasted state. Gender-related differences were observed in saliva microbiota, with certain bacteria more abundant in male samples in the fed condition.
