This work provides a comprehensive review of solar ejector cooling cycle (SECC) systems, including the fundamentals, design, operation, and performance. The review also identifies the main research trends and conclusions in the field.
The present work includes a review of solar ejector cooling cycle (SECC) systems. In the first section of the paper, an overview of the fundamentals of SECCs is presented. The most important aspects of the design, operation and performance of ejector devices and solar ejector cooling cycles are discussed. The second part of the paper includes a literature review encompassing studies focusing on SECCs. The review is organized into five sections, corresponding to the main research themes; 1) SECCs, 2) hybrid SECCs, 3) SECCs featuring variable geometry ejectors, 4) integration of SECCs in solar-driven multigeneration systems and 5) experimental studies on SECCs. The main research trends are identified and the most important conclusions are outlined, while future work recommendations are provided. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
