Chemical and physical drivers of beryllium retention in two soil endmembers

Vanessa Boschi et al.

Summary: Be-10 and Be-7 produced in the atmosphere from spallation reactions are deposited onto Earth's surface through wet and dry deposition and sorbed onto particles. The sorption of beryllium is influenced by the physical and chemical properties of soils, with quartz abundance and CEC being the strongest predictors.
