On the possibility of dust acoustic waves over sunlit lunar surface

Summary: The photoelectron sheath and positively charged dust particles form a two-component dusty plasma in the exospheric plasma near the sunlit lunar regolith, supporting the propagation of long-wavelength dust acoustic modes. Accounting for dust charge variation and energy distribution of photoelectrons within the sheath, it is shown that smaller values of dust charge and sheath potential can excite ultralow frequency modes in the plasma.
