A mathematical model for bioconvection flow of Williamson nanofluid over a stretching cylinder featuring variable thermal conductivity, activation energy and second-order slip

Zahra Abdelmalek et al.

Summary: This study investigates the bioconvection phenomenon in the flow of magnetized Williamson nanoparticles with features of activation energy and heat absorption/generation. By introducing interesting features of second-order slip effects and Nield boundary constraints, the flow problem is solved, and numerical solutions are obtained using a shooting algorithm with MATLAB software. It is found that certain parameters significantly influence the boundary layers' characteristics.

Study of Arrhenius activation energy on the thermo-bioconvection nanofluid flow over a Riga plate

M. M. Bhatti et al.

Summary: This article investigates the effects of Arrhenius activation energy and viscous dissipation on thermo-bioconvection nanofluid propagating through a Riga plate. Through numerical analysis, it is found that the magnetic field and bioconvection parameters weaken the velocity profile, while an increase in activation energy enhances the concentration profile. However, an increase in the Prandtl number suppresses the temperature profile changes.

A numerical and analytical approach for exploration of entropy generation in Sisko nanofluid flow having swimming microorganisms

Rahila Naz et al.

Summary: A new system of equations was developed using the Galerkin finite element scheme to investigate entropy generation in viscoelastic Sisko nanofluid over a cylinder, considering the presence of nanofluid and motile microorganisms, as well as magneto-hydrodynamic flow with an inclined magnetic field. The analysis included computation and scrutiny of various fluxes, with results indicating a decrease in entropy generation parameter and Bejan number with increasing microorganism concentration difference parameter. Streamlines, contour plots, and density plots were discussed in detail to explore the flow field's pertinent features.
