Muhammad Usman Khan et al.

Summary: End-capped modification was used to design five novel star-shaped three-dimensional acceptor molecules, which showed enhanced photovoltaic, electronic, and photophysical properties through density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TDDFT) analysis. The designed molecules exhibited advantages such as red shifting in absorption spectra.

Designing of benzodithiophene core-based smallmolecular acceptors for efficient non-fullerene organic solar cells

Muhammad Yasir Mehboob et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the theoretical design of five novel Benzodithiophene core-based acceptor molecules to enhance the performance of organic solar cells. End-capped acceptor modification with strong electron withdrawing groups has resulted in high charge mobility and red-shifting in absorption spectrum for the designed molecules. The low excitation and binding energies, along with a low HOMO-LUMO energy gap, make the H1-H5 molecules suitable candidates for high-efficiency organic solar cells.

Efficient Cu Decorated Inorganic B12P12 Nanoclusters for Sensing Toxic COCl2 Gas: A Detailed DFT Study

Faiza Younas et al.

Summary: Gas sensing materials have been widely explored recently due to their versatile applications in environmental and agriculture monitoring. Phosgene (COCl2) is a toxic gas, and in this study, pure and copper decorated B12P12 (Cu-BP) nano-clusters were analyzed using DFT method for phosgene gas adsorption. The results showed that Cu decoration significantly enhanced the adsorption power of the nanoclusters for COCl2 molecule.
