Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of topiramate treatment and the GRIK1 gene single nucleotide polymorphism (rs2832407) on patients with DSM-5 alcohol use disorder. The results showed that the topiramate treatment group had a better reduction in heavy drinking days, but the moderating effect of the rs2832407 genotype was not replicated in this study.
