Summary: The study aimed to synthesize selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) rapidly using aqueous extracts from Ceropegia bulbosa tubers in an eco-friendly manner and confirmed the synthesis of SeNPs through various analyses. The SeNPs demonstrated anti-cancer efficacy against MDA-MB-231 cells, growth inhibitory effects on certain pathogens and mosquito larvae, and efficient photocatalytic dye degradation.

The nanoparticles exhibited antitumor and antibacterial activities, with potential for further research and application in nanoparticle-based therapy. The method of simultaneous synthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles in a single pot using toddy shows promise for the development of novel nanomaterials.
