A novel nonlinear optical crystal NPT was developed using unidirectional crystal growth technique; NPT crystals showed superior optical transmittance, photoluminescence, and dielectric properties compared to conventionally grown crystals.
Novel nonlinear optical crystal of Nicotinium 4-Toluenesulfonate (NPT) was developed in unidirectionally for (001) plane by unidirectional crystal growth technique. The (001) plane is confirmed by powder XRD. Unidirectionally grown NPT crystals posses higher optical transmittance than conventionally grown crystal in the UV region and visible region. The photoluminescence studies confirms the grown NPT crystals in red emission. Surface withstand stability of unidirectionally grown crystal has increased. The dielectric constant is increased and dielectric loss is decreased in unidirectionally grown NPT crystal. The efficiency of Second Harmonic Generation for unidirectionally grown NPT crystal is measured and compared with typical KDP. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
