Fluid-Structure Interaction Modeling of Elastohydrodynamically Lubricated Line Contacts

Kushagra Singh et al.

Summary: This paper presents a partitioned fluid-structure interaction (FSI) solver to model elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) of line contacts. The FSI model uses the multiphysics simulation software Ansys and employs finite volume method (FVM) and finite element method (FEM) to determine the interaction between fluid and solid components and structural response. By removing any assumptions relative to the Reynolds equation, the model offers a detailed understanding of EHL contacts.
