In this study, a novel TiO2 nanosheet array film with superhydrophilicity was successfully fabricated through a hydrothermal method. The effects of preparing conditions on the formation of the film were systematically investigated.
Hydrophilic films have attracted much attention due to their potential in functional surfaces such as automotive and marine components. In this paper, a novel TiO2 nanosheet array film has been fabricated on Ti foil by hydrothermal method. The effects of preparing conditions such as concentration of NaCl solution, heat treatment temperature and pretreatment method on the formation of TiO2 nanosheet arrays were systematically investigated by XRD and SEM. When the concentration of NaCl solution was 2 M and the heat treatment temperature was 450 degrees C, TiO2 nanosheet array film with superhydrophilicity (water contact angle of 0 degrees) was obtained.
