Repeatability of Phase-Resolved Functional Lung (PREFUL)-MRIVentilation and Perfusion Parameters in Healthy Subjects andCOPDPatients

Gesa H. Poehler et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the repeatability of PREFUL-MRI ventilation and perfusion parameters, with results showing high reproducibility of these parameters in two scan sessions, being observed in both healthy controls and COPD patients.

Flow Volume Loop and Regional Ventilation Assessment Using Phase-Resolved Functional Lung (PREFUL) MRI: Comparison With 129Xenon Ventilation MRI and Lung Function Testing

Till F. Kaireit et al.

Summary: Noncontrast-enhanced ventilation-weighted phase-resolved functional lung MRI is a novel technique for assessing regional lung ventilation in healthy volunteers, CF, and COPD patients. The combination of regional ventilation and flow volume loops measured by PREFUL-MRI can increase sensitivity to mild airway obstruction and correlate strongly with lung function test parameters.

3D phase-resolved functional lung ventilation MR imaging in healthy volunteers and patients with chronic pulmonary disease

Filip Klimes et al.

Summary: The study tested the feasibility of 3D phase-resolved functional lung (PREFUL) MRI in healthy volunteers and patients with chronic pulmonary disease, comparing its performance with 2D PREFUL. It was found that 3D PREFUL is more sensitive in detecting hypoventilation and ventilation heterogeneity in patients with chronic lung disease compared to 3D(lowres) PREFUL. This method provides superior image resolution and precision, which is important for early detection and monitoring of patients with chronic lung disease.
